A completed expedition / A story taking shape
What a walk through the wild asks of us.
Four people on foot in Africa. Wildlife close to camp. A landscape connected to Kane and Kenny’s ancestry. The journey is complete; its story is now being developed and shared with potential partners.

The journey
The wildlife is only part of it.
Casey describes extreme heat, difficult water crossings and encounters with elephants, hippos, buffalo and lions. One night, a pride estimated at nearly thirty lions surrounded the camp. The adventure is compelling on its own.
The deeper story follows Kane and Kenny’s connection to their ancestors and the land. Alongside the wildlife are questions of trust, cooperation and how to understand a place on its own terms.
The human experience
Trust is something people do.
Walking together asks people to listen, share what they know and make decisions with one another. Fear is part of that experience. So are cooperation, uncertainty and the willingness to take another person’s understanding seriously.
This is the heart of the developing story: wildlife and human nature in the same frame. The encounters matter, and so does the connection that remains after the expedition ends.
Casey returned describing the journey as one of the most transformative experiences of his life. He had gone to explore the wild and came home with a different understanding of his own relationship with nature.
